Professional Bio
Craig Steelman grew up in Oklahoma City and Graduated from Casady High school in 1993. At a very young age his father taught him to use and program computers. From the days of DOS, PASCAL, WordStar, and Windows 3.11, Craig was emerged in computer technology.
Craig earned his degree from Emory University in 1997, with a 3.0 grade average in Political Science. During his time at Emory, Craig worked for a brokerage firm, a banking software company, poured industrial concrete, and sold Cutco knives.
After graduating from Emory, Craig’s focus changed from politics to the Internet. He worked for over a year at yet another banking software company in Dallas. Craig earned his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering accreditation in 1999.
Craig moved to California in 1999 and joined Bain and Company, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious business management consulting firms. Craig quickly rose in the ranks of the IT department and received his first taste at management. While at Bain, his duties included running the help desk department and providing network engineering in the enterprise environment.
Computer Networks would not be enough to hold the interest of Mr. Steelman. In 2002 he moved to New Orleans to start a software company with his brother Travis. Over the next few years Craig’s PHP, Linux, and other programming skills would improve. Running a company would also provide lessons you can not learn in a classroom. Katrina and an Office fire would prove to be the end of Craig’s days in New Orleans.
Craig presently lives in Austin Texas working as a freelance IT contractor. Craig’s top priority is finding new client in South Texas or a part-time IT position with a quality company.
